LENTEN GReetings From Father Taras!

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!

We begin the Lenten cycle with Forgiveness Sunday Vespers today March 2nd at St. Andrew Memorial Church in South Bound Brook at 4:00PM.

This year we have received a special invitation from His Grace Bishop Michael of the Orthodox Church of America to join with various Orthodox jurisdictions to affirm our common Orthodox Christian faith at the March 9th Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers. The service will be held at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 109 Grand Street in Jersey City (07302) at 4:00PM. Bishop-elect Mark of Pennsylvania will be the guest homilist.

I encourage all our faithful to participate at this service as well as at all our Deanery services for Great Lent. The success of these services can only be measured by the active participation of our faithful. It is a most worthy endeavor to get to know one another from other parishes of our New Jersey Deanery.

The 2014 Schedule of Lenten Services can be found here. I encourage everyone to participate and bring along a friend who may be interested in experiencing our Holy Orthodox Faith. Also, our Lenten Soup & Sandwich and other Agape events have been included in the schedule.

Praying you all have a truly meaningful Lenten Season and a joyous celebration of PASCHA.

Sincerely In His Holy Name,

Protopresbyter, Dr. Taras Chubenko
